Introducing Sammy!

Meet the team

We are delighted to welcome 2 new people to our K4 family; Billy – creative artworker and Sammy , designer. Both have already made their mark; most definitely in a good way! Read on to discover what makes Sammy tick. Billy’s gone all coy on us and has yet to share his answers…

1. What aspects of your job do you love?
Although I’ve only just joined K4 Creative, the team already feels like a second family. Everyone has been really lovely and welcoming and I genuinely look forward to coming into work each day. It’s a real joy to be a part of such a great team.

Since I’ve been here I’ve already worked on a range of multi-disciplinary opportunities for clients such as Hammerson and Shaftesbury. From designing an emoji image library, to creating leasing brochures and web pages. Working collaboratively within a small team gives me the opportunity to work on multiple projects at one time, and I’m looking forward to seeing what comes next.

2. What have you discovered about Holland Park?
Just how beautiful it is around here. The tree-lined roads and communal gardens make it a lovely place to work. With Notting Hill and Portobello Road on our doorstep, there’s always something to do. There is a laid back pace, but also a buzzing atmosphere full of creatives. Best of both worlds.

3. Have you bumped into anybody famous yet? If so, who?
Saw David Cameron last week grabbing a coffee. Not someone you see every day!

4. What hobbies do you have?
I regularly go to art exhibitions and design talks. I like to further my knowledge and understanding of the design world, and love learning from established professionals in the industry. I channel this creativity into my work at K4 and also outside of work where I run my own Etsy shop. I make original framed records and greeting cards ready to sell at local craft fairs and markets in the lead up to Christmas.

I’m forever adding to my record collection, and I’m a keen supporter of London’s grassroot music venues. Discovering new music at gigs and festivals with friends fills my weekends. I’ve recently moved to Dalston, and my local music pub The Shacklewell Arms always guarantees a good night.

I am also never without a book and a cup of tea. I love reading and getting lost in someone’s story. Always helps pass the time on the commute into work.

5. If you were a dog, what breed would you be & why?
Labrador. I’m extremely loyal to my friends and family (and can be a little annoying at times!)

6. What’s the one thing in life you would really like to do?
I have big dreams of running my own studio one day. I love to have my name above the door and know I’ve worked my hardest to get there. It would be my proudest moment.

7. What’s your favourite building and why?
The Louvre. Each time I go I discover something new. I can get lost in it any day.

8. Activity, beach or cultural holiday and where?
Would have to be a cultural holiday. I love city escapes and immersing myself in different cultures. Discovering new architecture, art galleries and trying the local dishes.

9. What thing are you most proud of?
When I sold out of Christmas card designs at my first craft fair. You get such a buzz when someone buys your work, and I received a positive response from my customers. It gave me a confidence boost and encouraged me to branch out and create new designs for next year.

10. What’s “your song”?
The Only Ones – Another Girl, Another Planet.

11. What 3 words would your best mate describe you as?
Funny, caring and creative.

12. If you could take one thing with you on a desert island, what would it be?
Probably my sister. She’s so funny, and I know she’ll make the time fly by.

13. Favourite sweet or chocolate bar?
Will have to be smarties, but before they took away the artificial colours!

14. Favourite type and flavour of crisps?
Monster Munch – Pickled Onion every time.

15. Who or what has been your biggest influence?
My parents are a constant source of inspiration and have influenced me creatively from a young age. I grew up in a home filled with love, art and music. They have always supported my creative future, and have encouraged me to find a job I really love. I hope I can make them proud.
